(Photo credit: Wikipedia)[/caption] Hey Body & Soul Fitness family.  Today I want to share with you something that was completely inspiring that happened at our Boys and Girls Club Charity event last weekend.  First things first, the event itself was a complete inspiration in itself.  People taking time out of their lives to come help us make a difference. What happened directly afterwards, is one of our members at the event, Barb, came up to me literally about to cry tears of joy because she told me that for the first time in she can't even recall how long, that when she was at her doctors for her checkup, he had no recommendations as to how she could improve.  Blood pressure: awesome, cholesterol: awesome, aches and pains GONE.  It was a life changer for her.  Barb is amazing because she lives a lifestyle which is very simple if you think about it.  She shows up to all her scheduled training sessions and she follows our nutrition programming to the T.  You do that and you achieve EXACTLY what you are looking for GUARANTEED. It’s moments like this that drive us and inspire us to continue to get better for you.  To continue to improve our level of service and experience to ensure you are getting the quickest and best results possible.  YOU are why we do what we do.  Thank you for inspiring us. -Trevor

RFL Mindset, Exercise, and Nutrition

Many people think about the accomplishment of physical conditioning being comprised only of exercise and nutrition.  While these are the essential actions that must be taken for the physical transformation of the body, there is one component that is often overlooked.  That is your mindset.  Not only is this essential, but it is the catalyst which will drive your decision to make the physical change you are looking for.  If you don’t establish a growth mindset and true benefits that this new lifestyle will provide, then you are just doing it because you feel that’s what you should be doing.  You need to establish the connection of what it will do for you life.  How will this serve your highest value in life?  Only then will you be able to whole-heartedly commit to your exercise and nutrition regime.  Check out this video explaining a little more in depth.  Thanks for watching! http://youtu.be/adYyYRWd4xE

Great tips from Prograde nutrition

Hey there Body & Soul family.  I came across this article which I though had a ton of value towards your continued personal growth and success and wanted to share it with you.  Enjoy! [caption id="" align="alignleft" width="300"]Box of Twinkies Box of Twinkies (Photo credit: Wikipedia)[/caption] -Trevor   6 Tips To Control Hunger By Mike T Nelson PhD(c) Let's face it, trying to lose fat can be hard at times.  The biggest thing that comes up time and time again is hunger.  In a perfect world, you would find a way to not be hungry and still watch your waistline shrink.   Can that really be done?   Below are 6 tips to help guide your waistline to a new low. 1) Eat more protein   I like to tell my clients to eat more when they are looking to get leaner.  Most of the time they look at me like I'm a 2 headed purple space alien.  Eat more?  Really?  Their whole lives they have heard you need to eat less and less, but can we eat more of something and still lose weight?   It turns out that protein has some very cool effects.  First off, protein helps with satiety and keeps you full longer.   I could site a bunch of studies here (2, 11, 15, 24), but try this experiment out on your own.   Eat 2 whole chicken breasts and the same amount of calories from Twinkies, then see how soon you are hungry again.   Two 6 oz chicken breasts have about 420 calories.  This may leave some of you doing your own episode of "Man vs Food" just to finish them.  Yet 3 Twinkies have about the same number of calories, and it would be easy to polish them off in no time (not that I know anything about that).   In the end, eat more protein to watch your waistline go down.   2) Drink more water   Not a new one, but the cool thing about water is 1) it is required, and 2) no calories.  Basic stuff, I know, but the key question is:  "Are you doing it?"   Test out drinking more water and I bet you will drop fat without trying harder (8, 12, 22, 23).   Does water temperature matter?   Research on this area is pretty split (5), so if you like cold water, go for it.  If you can't stand cold water, just go with room temperature water.   Don't use the temperature of the water as an excuse to avoid it.   Hmmm, the water is not cold, so I am going to skip it.   Drink more first; then worry about the temperature.   Read More Click Here   Dedicated to your Success Your Body & Soul Fitness T.E.A.M. [caption id="" align="alignleft" width="300"]Peaceful lakeview1024 Peaceful lakeview1024 (Photo credit: Wikipedia)[/caption] Hey there.  Today I want you to take a second to talk about the importance of putting yourself first in order to better serve others in your life.  We all have those we love serving and inspiring whether it be our kids, our partner, our family members (clientele).  What is important to note is that you are only at your most efficient in accomplishing this when you are at the top of YOUR game.  If you don’t put yourself first before serving others, you are doing them an injustice.  Taking care of yourself physically as well as mentally only enables you serve others at the top of your game in every regard of your life.  Letting yourself be in a place where you are unsatisfied with say the way you feel or look will only instill those emotions and teachings into the very people you are on a mission to inspire.  So serve yourself in order to better fulfill your service and experience to others.  Have an awesome and inspired day! -Trevor

Rapid Fat Loss Now, When You've Tried Everything Else

[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="300"]Collage of several of Gray's muscle pictures, ... Collage of several of Gray's muscle pictures, by Mikael Häggström (User:Mikael Häggström) (Photo credit: Wikipedia)[/caption]
Fat loss.  Oh fat loss.  Where art thou?  Fat loss has long been and will continue to be THE ULTIMATE goals of over 90% of people who are currently entering into any type of “gym” or personal training membership program.  But why isn’t this problem solved yet?  Well, it actually is solved.  Now, the biggest task is spreading the word and getting the solution into as many peoples’ hands as humanly possible, as quickly as possible. What is the absolute most precious thing all of us currently possess, but are all losing at the exact same time?  That’s right…time.  Time is absolutely of the essence. We only have so much, and we all want more.  Over the last 15 years as a leading fitness authority, I have found time to be one of the biggest culprits why people are unable to commit to bettering their lives in every regard.  The answer to this quite frankly is simple.  MELT: More Energy Less Time. If you are able to efficiently burn more fat in less time, that would be the best of both worlds would it not?  Having the ability to improve and change your body unlike ever before while doing it all in 45 minutes, 3 times per week.  To me it sounds too good to be true.  Well, the truth is, it is too good and it is true.  It is a simple matter of maximum efficiency of movement in a specified time geared towards getting you the absolute best results in the shortest period of time possible. The key is a revolutionary training system called Metabolic Resistance Training.  This style of training utilizes full body, multi-joint movements, which engage several muscle groups simultaneously therefore resulting in the most efficient, most RESULTS oriented end product in the fitness industry. This style of training has been scientifically proven to deliver 9X more body fat burning capabilities than any other existing style of traditional strength training.  To me, this sounds like an absolute winner. What about cardiovascular training?  Great question.  Cardiovascular training is obviously a complete necessity in any well-rounded fitness program.  I would say your heart is a significantly important muscle would you agree?  The traditional belief is that in order to properly work your heart and also burn tons of body fat is through cardiovascular exercise. Let me ask you a question.  Let’s say your ultimate fat burning zone is 65% of your max heart rate, which ends up being 140 beats per minute (for this example).  What would be the difference of getting your heart rate to 140 beats on treadmill compared to doing squats and pushups in terms of cardiovascular benefit and also muscle preservation and growth?  Well, in terms of cardiovascular benefit, there is no difference.  140 beats is 140 beats.  Now in terms of muscle preservation, there is a complete world of difference.  Traditional cardio will result in your muscle being burned as fuel ultimately resulting in a loss of muscle.  Believe it or not, that is a fact.  Using traditional full body strength movements as well as methods of metabolic resistance training, enables you to not only significantly improve your heart health, it enables you to preserve and even increase your long lean fat burning muscle mass in order to burn more body fat 24/7.  This system is the definition of maximum efficiency and production of ultimate fat loss for good. At Body & Soul our mission is simple.  Our mission is to empower, inspire, educate, and transform as many lives from the inside out as possible, to Impact Obesity so greatly, that we change our nations’ current path. To do this, we need your help... This is a bold, but attainable goal that will enable us to impact so many people in need and after all my years of research I believe we have a system that is 100% capable of creating that impact. The ability to burn more body fat, build more muscle and completely change someone’s life in three 45-minute commitments per week in my eyes is the ultimate key to fat loss.  Why?  Because it is attainable and practical for peoples’ busy lives.  The importance of peoples’ time is something I believe has been neglected in the fitness field;  the understanding that everyone has their priorities, commitments, obligations, and passions that demand and deserve their time.  Without a practical, time appropriate solution, it is simply not going to work. What I want you to think about is how much better and more efficient you will be able to achieve every priority, every obligation, and every passion that is important in your life by taking your health into your own hands and taking that first step.  The step is the decision to make a change.  This is my challenge to you.  I dare you.  -Trevor Contact us Now for your **Complimentary Weight Loss and Body Transformation Consultation!**   Call (716)572-1536 or visit www.body-soulfitness.com to get started today.

Throw Away the Scale!

Have you ever though to yourself, this scale just doesn’t make sense.  I have been exercising like crazy and really dedicated to bettering my nutrition and this thing is not budging.  I’m absolutely frustrated.  I give up.  If you have said or though something similar, you have GOT to check this out because when it comes down to it, the scale is actually the last thing you should be paying attention to in a fat loss and body sculpting program. -Trevor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlkXwFsGpk4&feature=youtu.be

The 5 Golden Rules to Owning Your Nutrition

[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="217"]Nutrition Nutrition (Photo credit: Susan von Struensee)[/caption] I can’t even begin to tell you the number of times I have been approached with people searching for the “Holy Grail” solution for the perfect nutrition program.  Well, I could tell you that our Body & Souls Simplest Most Effective Rapid Fat Loss Solution is the perfect resolution, which may be a bit biased.  Truthfully though, many nutrition programs are absolutely effective, but the true key to owning your nutrition is all in your action plan.  These are The 5 Golden Rules To Owning Your Nutrition, FOR GOOD!! First, you must establish your goals.  Without establishing long-term goals of where you want to be, and short-term goals, which will define a realistic and measurable path of execution and achievement, you haven’t given yourself any true and attainable direction.  Saying, “I need to drop a couple pounds”, or I needs to start watching what I am eating”, just doesn’t cut it unfortunately.   Laying this groundwork will enable you to visualize each step of your journey to success.  Once you establish these goals, they must be re-visited and updated weekly.  Life happens, and things change.  Your goals are no different.  What you think you want from one week to the next may change.  It is extremely important that you keep up with your thoughts by reviewing and possibly updating these goals weekly in order to continually keep your action steps in the forefront of your mind. Secondly, you must plan your actions strategically.  In this particular case, planning refers to the organization and execution blueprint for your meals.  Without this crucial step, you will ultimately find yourself in some serious nutrition trouble. When you are planning, I suggest looking at your week in terms of family life, work, social events etc. to find your trouble spots.  These will be the times where you realize it will be difficult for you to get in proper nutrition.  Pinpointing these and developing solutions for these instances rather than giving the ever-common EXCUSE of “I just couldn’t because…” is going to enable you to feel empowered knowing you own your nutrition. Third, you must pre-prepare your food regularly to prepare yourself for success.  Waiting until you are hungry to fix something for yourself is just not going to cut it.  Doing this is basically setting yourself up for failure.  What I suggest is what I call the Sunday ritual.  On Sunday (or whatever day works best for you) designate a 2-3 hour block of time to shop, cook and prepare your foods for the week and to package them in small serving size containers in order to take every excuse out of the equation.  At the end of the day, if you are not doing this, your lack of effort will be the main reason you aren’t able to achieve nutrition bliss. Forth, you must plan your rewards.  By this I mean you work hard.  You deserve to let loose and live a little.  Our most successful family members literally plan 1-2 bonus meals per week where they are able to reward themselves, feel great about it due to the fact that it was part of the plan and not a slip up, and move on to executing the rest of their plan.  This can be touchy and there are a couple sub-rules that must be followed.  1.) This is a meal not a binge fest. 2.) You must be able to eat your next meal following your bonus meal as scheduled.  Therefore if you are eating the recommended 6 meals per day, and you ate your bonus meal for meal number 4, you must still eat meal 5 and 6.  Thus, if you overate, you will have broken this fatal rule. Fifth and most important is your reason WHY.  Why is taking your nutrition into your own hands so important to you and your life?  Goals are one thing, but having a true reason for your goals will enable you to be unstoppable.  What is your highest value in life?  What is your purpose?  For me, it is my son and my wife.  Whenever I set a goal, I always link how this goal will enable me to fulfill my highest value of my family and ultimately fulfill my purpose.  This linking drives me to do whatever I have to do to accomplish what I have set out to achieve. Nutrition was meant to be simple.  Stick to the basics of produce, protein and water 5-6 times per day and you will be on the way to absolute freedom and control of the body and mind you have always wanted.  Remember, there is never chance in any situation.  There is only choice and only you can make the necessary choice and take the necessary action.  Here’s to your health. -Trevor

Quick Inspiration

Hey there.  Today I want to share with you some inspiration about the word telos.  Telos comes from the study of teleology with is the study of human purpose.  Your telos is the one thing in your life that you cherish most.  It is your highest value.  We all have one, but the question I want you to ask yourself is are you listening to it?  Are you letting it inspire your actions throughout your day? [caption id="" align="alignleft" width="300"]Portrait of Aristoteles. Pentelic marble, copy... Portrait of Aristoteles. Pentelic marble, copy of the Imperial Period (1st or 2nd century) of a lost bronze sculpture made by Lysippos. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)[/caption] Know this.  All the time we spend in our lives without our focus centered on our purpose / our highest value is time that we are not performing at our best.  Any time you are engaged in activity or work surrounding your telos, everything begins to flow like nothing else in your life. So I challenge you to identify your one thing, and dedicate the focus of your life to truly fulfilling your purpose instead of just wishing or convincing yourself that this would be too good to be true.  Do this one thing and you will enable yourself to live your purpose and live inspired every day of your life. -Trevor
