Quick Inspiration: Your Rapid Weight Loss Is Only As Difficult As Your Perceive

Recent research has found the largest diamond in known existence to be suspended 15 light years away from planet earth and is said to be the remnants of the core of a burned out star. 

 

This diamond is said to measure 10 billion, trillion, trillion carats large.  That's right.  10 billion, trillion, trillion carats. 

 

Ok… So what’s my point?

 

My point is that we live in an infinite universe with infinite opportunities, yet we live with finite (limited) restrictions on our lives, which we create and we govern ourselves.

 

It blows my mind that we limit ourselves and restrict ourselves from what we want in life many times due to our own self-doubt and fears of what might happen if we fail. 

 

If you truly want to lose that 30 pounds and you think it would change your life, what is preventing you from changing your life today? 

 

What do you have to fear?  So maybe you will fail for a minute.  Let me ask you this.  Is it possible to have success without failing first?  If so, then how would you be able to tell if you actually succeeded?  There is nothing to measure it against. 

 

It comes down to a decision, and the persistence to expect, anticipate and look forward to mini challenges, which enable the discovery and implementation of new methods, which will propel us to the next level in our lives. 

 

In a world of uncomprehend able abundance and opportunity, I believe we all need to be grounded some days to the large scope of what we are involved in, and what we are truly capable of.  It is yours for the taking and the CHOICE is all yours.

Quick Inspiration: Hope Wins at the End of the Day

Last week, I was giving a presentation on the top 13 nutrition trends of 2013, which was a blast!  After the presentation one of our clients Julie, who was very frustrated about her health, approached me. 

 

She has been caught up in the fast paced society living with so many years filled with quick fix fast foods and lifestyle choices, which are only taking away from her health.  Currently Julie has high blood pressure, high cholesterol as well as diabetes. 

 

Now she has been working out for some time now and has made significant strength as well as some noticeable composition changes, but has yet to see the absolute value in her life of taking on the nutritional component of the program head on. 

 

The reason she came up to me afterwards was because of something I said which opened her eyes and as she says “gave her hope.” 

 

She has been stuck in her path for so long with these health issues and said that she hasn’t made a move yet because she didn’t know which direction to pursue.  The information she has received just hasn’t made much sense as there has been an absolute has been a huge lack of consistency with the information her doctors are telling her. 

 

One says her issue is because of the high amount of fat in the diet.  Another says that it is because of too little protein etc.  The whole point is that nothing she had heard up to that point made sense to her.  She was told what to do as opposed to why she is in the situation she is in, and then providing an understandable solution in a different direction than she is currently in.  Hence, Julie has decided to stay with what she knows in “the safe zone,” which is changing nothing. 

 

Now this is not to say that she thought it was safe by any means, but at the same time if the professionals she was supposed to be relying on were giving several different answers to the same question without supplying a valid backup as to why, how was she supposed to see how it was going to relate to fixing her current health concerns.  

 

After the presentation, I was able to sit with Julie for about 15 minutes where we had an in depth conversation about what was causing the root of her issues.  SHE GOT IT.  Once she understood the root cause, she was then given the hope that she would be able to successfully change the course of where things were heading. 

 

We all know the feeling of hopelessness from one experience or another we have had in our lives.  We also know the feeling when we have newfound hope brought into our lives. 

 

Just think what we could accomplish if we all tried to instill this hope to others around us every single day.  It could literally change the world. 

 

I challenge you to be observant by focusing on what others need, and how we can help them achieve that. 

 

Julie just needed hope, and I was honored to be in a position where I could give that to her.

Quick Inspiration: My Wife Inspires Me!

Oh the power nutrition and exercise have on the quality and quantity of our lives.  Today I want to talk about how my wife continues to inspire me throughout her pregnancy.

 

For those of you who don’t know myself or my wife Laura, we are expecting a new little boy November 10th, so we are just weeks away from the greatest gift I could ever ask for. 

 

I just got off the phone with my wife who just finished her morning workout, which she has maintained throughout her entire pregnancy and it, combined with the changes she has made nutritionally this pregnancy, have made all of the difference in the world for her this go around. 

 

With her first pregnancy, I’ve gotta blow her in for a second and say that she did not work out 1x, and was not eating terribly, but at the same time, she was not on a system built to accelerate her through the process. 

 

She says that there is an absolute world of difference in her level of comfort, energy, alertness, enjoyment, mood, stamina, and love for her husband.  Well…although I would love to hope that last one is true, I simply added that in as I know she is also reading this.  LOVE YOU HUN!! 

 

I have noticed that she is more able to enjoy this experience 10x more than her first pregnancy because she is #1 feeding her body the proper fuel regularly throughout the day in order to keep her body in a accelerated recovery and growth state and supply a killer dose of energy for her. 

 

Workout wise, I’ve gotta say, SHE IS STILL KILLING IT!!  I watched her just the other day and really, I can’t believe how she is still moving.  Now, that not only pertains to the workout floor, but also just in her day to day. 

 

Her lower back, which was a huge issue the first pregnancy, GONE.  The need for daily naps because of exhaustion, GONE.  Because of solid foundational nutrition and regular exercise, Laura is living a higher quality life where she has been able to experience more of what she loves. 

 

This my friends is not only inspirational, this is a testament to the importance of properly fueling and engaging our bodies regularly so that we are able to do whatever we want to do, whenever we want to.  Freedom if you will.

Quick Inspiration: Don’t let yourself get in the way of your success

“There are plenty of difficult obstacles in your path.  Don’t let yourself be one of them.”

 

I heard this quote about 3 months ago and it has stuck with me and resurfaced several times already. 

 

Can you think of a time when this quote stood true to you? 

 

Let me rephrase that question.  Who can say that you have never gotten in your own way of opportunity due to your own actions or lack there of? 

 

Sure taking certain actions and avoiding others is a sure way to achieve safety in many cases of our lives, but is that what we want for ourselves at the end of the day? 

 

Do we want to remember that we never took risks, or do we want to remember how we followed what we truly desired in our lives? 

 

Nothing is for sure and I guess that’s part of the beauty.  If we always continue to doubt ourselves, then we will remain in doubt.  If we believe in our capabilities to get up and learn from our failures only to respond differently moving forward, then we live in the constant progress of belief. 

 

Why do we allow ourselves to walk the common path in many cases wondering what if, when at every given second we have the power to allow ourselves to walk on the shoulders of giants by believing in ourselves and getting out of our own way?

Quick Inspiration: What is in your way of getting you where you want to go??

The other day I was talking to a client and she had mentioned that she was frustrated with her progress lately. 

I asked her what her goals were and she responded “I would love to lose another 15 lbs onto of the 20 I have already lost.” 

So while she was focused on the 15 pounds and how they weren’t coming quick enough, I quickly turned her attention towards the main preventatives of her hitting her goal by asking her a simple question. 

“What are the main hurdles getting in your way of getting where you want to be?”

I know.  Number one, it sounds like an absolutely obvious question to ask.  Secondly, we think that asking such an “obvious” question to the same person who is having the challenge wouldn’t know how to respond. 

This is where our assumptions get tossed right out the door. 

She quickly answered, “well it’s definitely the nutrition.  I know I am missing meals pretty regularly during the day, and also I am getting into the wrong foods late at night…”

Then she stopped.  “Wow, I actually knew what the issue was and just couldn’t see it.  How did you do that?”

The truth is that I did nothing but ask the simple question “What are the main hurdles getting in your way of getting where you want to be?”

It’s interesting that inside of us, we know how each everything we do in our lives make us feel.  What I mean is that if we have a goal of losing 15 pounds and we are eating things we shouldn’t be for example, emotionally, that will register in our minds with negative associations towards that instance.  In other words, we beat ourselves up about it and the instance stands out. 

All I was doing was recognizing that fact and asking her to find those instances that were already imprinted in her mind.  The answers were there as she experienced them, she just needed a little guidance in order to hone in on what areas to find resolutions for moving forward. 

So if you serious about a goal you may currently have, ask yourself the following question and answer it thoroughly. 

“What are the main hurdles getting in your way of getting where you want to be?”
