Quick Inspiration: The Power Of A Team For Weight Loss

The definition of the word service according to Wikipedia is a set of actions or solutions that are put in place or are performed to provide a repeatable and consistent set of outcomes, deliverables, and performance for people, organizations, and systems that represent consumers or beneficiaries of such results. Now whatever you do in your life, you do this. You do this for your families and for your work. At home, we are serving our families by cooking, cleaning and providing all the necessities and luxuries life has to offer. At work, we are all serving others and providing them either with a direct experience based customer service or maybe we are creating a product, which produces a service for the consumer. In turn, our work is also serving our families by providing monetary means. I truly believe all of us have a purpose in this life and that this purpose is all related to serving others. That said, how are we supposed to best fulfill our purpose if we aren’t taking care of ourselves first? Let me ask you a question…If you were in the best physical shape of your life RIGHT NOW, do you feel you would better be able to take care of everyone and everything in your life? Of course you would. Another question…by not providing that for yourself, are you doing yourself, everyone and everything a disservice in what you are truly capable of providing? I think we also know the answer to that one as well. Now I want to be clear. I am not saying this to criticize, nor to condemn. Far from really. This is coming from the fat kid who always underestimated himself who finally woke up and finally started living by this when I realized what I was actually capable of. It was amazing the other day when one of our family members Lisa shared her success with me because she just hit it on the head. I am so proud of you Lisa!!! You have grown so much. Quick Inspiration: Diet vs. Exercise

When it comes to slimming down, which one matters more—exercise or diet? Exercise. Yes, you can lose weight with diet alone, but exercise is an important component. Without it, only a portion of your weight loss is from fat -- you're also stripping away muscle and bone density. Since working out stimulates growth of those metabolic tissues, losing weight through exercise means you're burning mostly fat. The number on the scale may not sound as impressive, but because muscle takes up less space than fat does, you look smaller and your clothes fit better. To lose weight with exercise and keep it off, you don't need to run marathons. You just need to build up to four to five workouts a week, 50 minutes each, with moderate intensity with movements like squats, lunges, push-ups and planks. That's the same protocol we use at The Transformation Center By Body & Soul Fitness and in our fat melting, result producing 6-Week 20lb Challenge program. And, of course, beyond burning fat, people shouldn't forget that exercise can have other impressive health perks, like improving the quality of your sleep, lowering your cholesterol and reducing your stress level. Diet. As a rule of thumb, weight loss is generally 75 percent diet and 25 percent exercise. An analysis of more than 700 weight loss studies found that people see the biggest short-term results when they eat smart. It's much easier to cut calories than to burn them off. For example, if you eat something that has 500 calories (which will take you less than 1 minute), you need to run more than four miles to 'undo' it! So, what should you eat? I recommend striving for a more balanced plan that focuses on fruits and veggies, lean proteins and whole grain low glycemic carbs. And never cut calories too low (This causes your metabolism to slow, and you can start losing muscle mass which translates to slower metabolism). Quick Inspiration: David Is A Weight Loss Machine!!

Just a couple months ago, I had the privilege of meeting a very special man. David Jernigan. I have to say right away that I knew this guy was very special from the first time I met him. Full of life man. The type of guy who loves to improve others lives and just simply bring them joy. The kind of guy who is selfless in his actions. Just an awesome example of what I feel we all want to be. Over the couple months we have been able to know David thus far, we have seen him quite simply transform. Not only in body, but also to a higher level of soul and joy. It has just been humbling to be a part of. I have had the opportunity to celebrate with David his MANY milestone accomplishments thus far.
